Confirmation is the final Sacrament of initiation. In order to be ready for the Sacrament of Confirmation in the 9-10th grade, a number of guidelines have been established for high school students by the Archdiocese of Newark. Expectations for the two year program of Confirmation preparation are directed at the personal development of three areas: spirituality, catechesis, and a heart for service.

Guidelines for development:
· Spirituality:
· Mandatory Retreat: May 15-17, 2020 (Theme: Bible)
· Attendance at weekly Sunday Mass and other Holy Days of Obligation
· At least one participation of Parish Holy Hour (First Friday of each Month at 8PM)
· At least one participation of the Stations of the Cross on Friday during Lenten Season.
· Full participation during Holy Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil)
Catechesis:
· Weekly attendance at SAKYG Confirmation Class on Sundays
Service:
· In the Parish Community
· 3 church related projects
· Parish Lunch Service
· Baby sitting during parish retreats
· Sunday School Bible Camp TA or Summer Camp TA
· In the greater community
· 5 volunteer hours within the community
· Or 5 additional church service hours
Other Expectations:
· Confirmation candidates must know important prayers and pass final exam before Confirmation ceremony
· Must give prior notice if planning miss Sunday mass or class or any youth group activities.
· Confirmation candidates must submit all homeworks before being confirmed
· Parents must participate monthly sacrament prep-meeting

Baptism and First communion Certificates
If Candidate was not Baptized or received First Communion at St. Andrew Kim, please turn in copies of certificates with registration, if you have not done so in the past.

Please submit sponsor form by April 1, 2020.
